We are proud to share that Tandem Health is expanding into Finland. To lead this important step, we have appointed Dr Johan Sanmark as Country Director Finland.

Dr Sanmark is a specialist physician with broad leadership experience in both public and private healthcare. He has served as Medical Director of Staffing Services and Director of Public Digital Services at Terveystalo, and most recently as Director of Research, Development, and Innovation at the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County, where he pioneered the use of AI in health and social care.
In his own words:
“As a physician, I have seen and experienced the challenges of limited access to care, while healthcare professionals spend up to 40% of their working time at the computer. My mission is to free this time from documentation so it can be spent meeting and caring for patients."
Healthcare professionals in Finland face the same challenges we see across Europe: too much time on administration, too little time with patients. According to the Finnish Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, clinicians spend more than three hours a day on documentation.
Tandem’s AI medical assistant addresses this problem directly. It listens quietly in the background during patient visits, captures the key details, and generates structured, compliant clinical notes. It can also produce referrals and medical statements.
Looking ahead, we are developing additional features such as compiling a patient’s medical history for faster reviews and a certified medical device for clinical decision support – tools designed to help doctors make more informed and tailored decisions.
Tandem Health is already used by more than 1,000 healthcare organizations across Europe, producing over 100,000 AI-assisted clinical notes every week. From Scandinavia to Spain, our AI medical assistant is helping reduce administrative burden, improve quality of care, and give healthcare professionals valuable time back with their patients.
