Recoletas chooses Tandem to bring AI-powered solutions to over 50 hospitals and clinics in Spain

In Spanish healthcare, two things are often true at once: patients need more time, and clinicians don’t have it to give. Not because they don’t want to, but because the system demands too much of their attention elsewhere.

Recoletas, one of Spain’s largest private healthcare providers, is taking a step to change that. They’ve partnered with Tandem Health to bring its AI medical assistant into more than 50 clinics and hospitals across the country. This is the first of multiple AI-based solutions that the Valladolid-based group plans to implement through this collaboration with Tandem Health.

Each year, Recoletas delivers over 2 million consultations. That scale leaves little room for inefficiency. After piloting the assistant in select clinics, they’re now rolling it out more broadly – with a goal of reaching 75% of consultations by the end of Q3 2025.

Tandem’s assistant works in the background, listening quietly during each consultation. It transcribes the conversation in real time, picks out what’s clinically important, and drafts the medical record—before the patient even leaves the room. It doesn’t save audio. It doesn’t interrupt. It simply helps doctors do their work with fewer clicks, fewer screens, and more focus on the person in front of them.

The assistant also adapts to each doctor’s preferred style, uses the right language for each specialty, and creates patient summaries that are clear, direct, and free of jargon. Referral notes, prescriptions, sick leave forms—they’re all drafted and ready for review before the appointment ends.
