Praktikertjänst partnered with Tandem to explore how AI-assisted documentation could reduce administrative work and give clinicians more time for patient care. They launched a pilot across four care units to evaluate the real-world impact of using AI to support clinical note-taking.

A national provider testing AI in everyday care

Praktikertjänst is one of Sweden's largest healthcare providers, with 7,000 employees and 730 clinics. The pilot with Tandem was part of a broader effort to understand how AI could support clinicians and simplify documentation in a safe and efficient way.

From 4 clinics to 35 in just four months

The pilot involved 31 physicians, mostly general practitioners, across four clinics. The evaluation included real use of Tandem during patient visits, interviews with clinicians and patients, surveys, and data on time saved and note quality.

One month after the pilot ended, over 8,000 notes had been created with Tandem. Most were transferred to the EHR in under 2.5 minutes.

Clinicians report clear, measurable impact

Doctors described Tandem as intuitive and easy to use. One physician saved 30 minutes in a single morning by using it consistently.

Based on the strong results, Praktikertjänst scaled Tandem to 35 clinics in just four months. Today, over 1,000 clinical notes are generated each day using Tandem.
